🏆 About Tetris
Tetris is Alexey Pajitnov's 1984 puzzle (rights via The Tetris Company). Seven shapes fall. You rotate and drop them to clear horizontal lines. The stack rising to the top is the game over.
Browser versions are HTML5 clones or licensed embeds; the rules you want are still Guideline-ish: I, J, L, O, S, T, Z, line clears, increasing gravity. It is not 2048. It is not a match-3.
Tetris is line clearing:
- Seven tetrominoes
- Rotate, shift, soft drop, hard drop if mapped
- Level gravity that speeds up
- Score for singles, doubles, triples, and Tetrises (four lines)
2048 is merging numbers. Tetris is stacking geometry. Both are 'one more game' traps.
How to Play Tetris
Move with arrows, rotate with up or a dedicated key, drop with space if present. Keep the stack low. Leave a well for the long bar if you want Tetrises. Do not panic-rotate into a covered hole if you can still slide the piece.

In Tetris, build unevenly on purpose so the long bar has a slot. A perfectly flat stack with no well makes the I-piece awkward.
Tetris vs 2048?
2048 (Gabriele Cirulli) is a sliding merge puzzle. Tetris is falling tetrominoes. Both are grid puzzles; they do not play the same.
Is Tetris okay for kids?
Yes. Tetris is the family puzzle. Speed may tilt adults more than kids.
